Camp: Anahola Beach, Kauai

Our first night in Kauai was a campsite at Anahola Beach. There’s a large grassy area where campers can pitch a tent.

We arrived later in the afternoon so there wasn’t a bunch of space left. Thankfully we found a quiet spot on the dirt.

You are literally steps from the ocean, and it’s gorgeous. The bathrooms were decent, and overall we enjoyed our time.

For food we brought dehydrated meals we got at REI on the mainland. Walmart in Lihue also sells them.

You need a permit to stay here, and it was fairly easy to obtain online as long as it’s at least a month before your reservation. You can also go in person to obtain a permit.

This is one from a series of all the places we camped this year. I would recommend!
